It’s a good day!

Yesterday, I carried cement in buckets down a steep hill, ate a panini at the local coffee shop, and played with children. No, that is not a normal day for me. I do however feel like I may have been ran over twenty two and a half times. At least. Honduras is different. The beauty takes my breath away, and I love it here. I read the other day in my quiet time about peace. I do not know about you, but I am a huge fan of peace. The kind where when the storm is going in all crazy directions there is the feeling of “hey God has this”, and I sit back calm as ever. This is not true most of the time for me. I usually go in to panic mode before peace ever finds me. Why? Because my eyes loose focus on the One who calms me. In the process of that, my peace fades and I am running all over the place trying to figure everything out.
“Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly. And the best of the three is love.”‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭13:13‬ ‭

In the eyes of a child, the view of the mountains, and in the laughter of the ones around me there is peace. What a beautiful thing that is. I wish you were here to experience it. It is totally different even when I am not having such a good day. Someone told me once (and reminded me this morning) that not every day is good, but there is good in every day. She was right. I found a lot of good in this day from sharing music with a child to brushing the dirt and rust off of the gates. Ok, I was told if I say brush you will think of the one you do your hair with. That is wrong. A brush with metal bristles. I know what you are thinking and yes I am a different color. Dirt is everywhere, and I am ok with it. Oh the stories I could tell you, but that is for another day. Today, I just wanted to say two things.

1. Life is hard even when you travel all the way to Honduras
2. My heart is so full of love and peace

That is definitely something good in this day. I am right where I need to be, and tonight I am ok with it. Tomorrow I will be ok with it as well.
Night from Honduras.
